Sendwithus Announces New Victoria Headquarters
Innovative startup continues to expand, plans to increase local team by 40 percent
VICTORIA, British Columbia —January 31, 2018—Sendwithus, the innovative communications management company, today announced it is expanding its local footprint and moving into the newly renovated British American Trust Company Building to support its growing team. The 5,364 square foot headquarters will serve as the company’s new technology hub.
“We are delighted to have Sendwithus choose the British American Trust Company Building in Victoria for its new headquarters and expanded engineering operations,” said Dan Gunn, Executive Director, Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (VIATEC). “Greater Victoria’s tech sector is now contributing more than $4 billion to our local economy due to its over 900 tech companies and their 15,000+ direct employees. Thanks to companies like Sendwithus there is no sign of the growth slowing and we believe the local tech scene will eclipse $10 billion in annual revenues by 2030. As evidenced by its momentum, Sendwithus is on the path to being Victoria’s next big success story, joining the ranks of MetaLab and MediaCore.”
The new headquarters, which is on the Canadian Register of Historic Buildings, boasts a modern, open office environment well suited for collaboration. Sendwithus chose the British American Trust Company Building because of its prime location in Victoria’s Central Business District and its historical legacy as a hallmark of Victoria’s burgeoning gateway economy. Built in 1912, the two-story, Edwardian-era Beaux-Arts commercial building provides ample space for the company’s innovation center as well as a multi-purpose area that affords the opportunity to host local technology and startup events in the future.
“With our recent $5 million Series A funding round, a critical component of our growth strategy is to attract top talent and thinkers as we expand our offering to enterprise customers,” said Brad Van Vugt, Co-Founder, Sendwithus. “Together with Will Warren, our newly appointed Vice President of Engineering, we intend to grow the Sendwithus Victoria team by another 30 to 40 percent in 2018. Our new headquarters will unite our rapidly expanding workforce to provide an environment that inspires innovation and development for our customers. We are committed to the Victoria market as it demonstrates a shared vision for a new Digital Age, with a vibrant tech community that is very much aligned with our customers’ requirements.”
